SheetTrack Terms of Use
Effective date: October 19, 2026
1. Agreement
These terms are between you and SheetTrack, a sole proprietorship of Lakshay Goel registered in New Delhi, India ("we", "us"). They govern your use of the SheetTrack Excel add-in, the SheetTrack web service it calls (the "API"), and the website at sheettrack.com (together, the "Service"). By installing or using the Service you accept these terms and our Privacy Policy. If you use SheetTrack for an organization, you confirm that you may bind it. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
You must be at least 18 years old.
If you obtained SheetTrack through Microsoft AppSource, these terms are between you and us only. Microsoft is not a party to them and is not responsible for the Service.
2. What the Service does
SheetTrack checks Excel workbooks for formula, structure, data-quality and documentation issues, compares versions, keeps restorable version history (including versions saved automatically when that is on), and, for workbooks in OneDrive or SharePoint, supports review requests, comments, roles and an audit log ("Team features"). It runs in Excel on Windows, Mac and the web. It is not offered on iPad.
The Service is free. We may change, limit or stop features, including usage limits such as the maximum workbook size per analysis. If we ever start charging for SheetTrack, people who installed it before then keep the features that were free when they installed it.
3. Your licence
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to install and use the add-in in Microsoft Excel, and to use the API and website through the add-in, for lawful purposes and under these terms. You may not:
- copy, sell, rent, sublicense or redistribute the Service;
- reverse engineer or attempt to extract source code, except where the law gives you that right despite this restriction;
- remove proprietary notices; or
- use the Service to build a competing product by systematically copying it.
We own the Service, the SheetTrack name and logo, and all related intellectual property. Third-party open-source components remain under their own licences.
4. Your workbooks and data
You own your workbooks and everything in them. We claim no rights in them. You give us only the limited permission needed to provide the features you use: to receive the data you choose to send for shared history and sign-in, and to read and write SheetTrack's history files in your own OneDrive or SharePoint on your behalf. How we handle data is described in the Privacy Policy. In short, we store no copy of your workbooks or history.
You are responsible for having the right to use the data in your workbooks and for deciding whether SheetTrack is suitable for it, including data under legal or contractual restrictions.
5. Microsoft accounts and permissions
Cloud features need a Microsoft account and your consent to the permissions listed in the Privacy Policy. Your use of Microsoft services is governed by your agreement with Microsoft, and your organization's administrator may restrict what you can approve. You can revoke SheetTrack's permissions at any time. We are not responsible for Microsoft outages, policy changes or storage limits.
6. Changes to your workbook
Analyze and Compare do not edit your workbook. Going back does, whether you restore a whole version or undo a single change. Before it changes anything, SheetTrack saves a backup version. A restore then replaces cell values and formulas, and sheet membership and order, with those of the chosen version. It does not restore formatting, charts, named ranges or other workbook objects. Restoring one of OneDrive's own versions replaces the whole file, and OneDrive keeps the current file as another version. Keep your own backups of important files.
7. Analysis and review are aids, not advice
SheetTrack's findings may be incomplete or wrong. A result that reports partial coverage is not a clean result. The Service does not guarantee that errors will be found, and it is not accounting, audit, tax, legal or financial advice. You are responsible for your models and for decisions made using them.
8. Team features, records and the audit log
Team records are stored in a .sheettrack folder next to your workbook and are visible to everyone who can open that folder, together with full workbook snapshots. Your organization is responsible for who has access to that folder. The audit log is tamper-evident, not tamper-proof: SheetTrack detects records edited outside it, but someone who can edit the folder can still delete it or put back an older copy. SheetTrack roles and approvals are workflow aids, not security or compliance controls, and are not a substitute for your own controls.
9. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- use the Service unlawfully or to process data you have no right to process;
- attack, probe, overload or reverse engineer the API, bypass its rate or size limits, or run load tests without our written permission;
- interfere with other users' access, or use the Service to distribute malware;
- access another person's workbooks or history without authorization; or
- violate Microsoft's terms while using the Service.
We may suspend access to protect the Service or other users.
10. Availability and support
The Service is provided when available. There is no service-level commitment. It needs an internet connection, and the API may be temporarily slow or unavailable. Support is by email at support@sheettrack.com and at sheettrack.com/support. We aim to reply within two business days, but do not guarantee a response time.
11. Feedback
If you send us feedback, you allow us to use it without obligation to you.
12. Disclaimer of warranties
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, non-infringement, and uninterrupted or error-free operation. We do not warrant that history, backups or analysis results will be complete, accurate or available.
13. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost revenue, lost or corrupted data, or business interruption, arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability for all claims relating to the Service is limited to USD 100. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law, or limits mandatory consumer rights where you live.
14. Termination
You may stop using the Service at any time by removing the add-in. We may suspend or end your access if you breach these terms, if the law requires it, or if we discontinue the Service, giving reasonable notice where practical. Your workbooks and history stay in your own storage. Sections that by their nature should survive termination will survive.
15. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. We will post the new version with a new effective date and, for material changes, post a notice on sheettrack.com at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use after the effective date means you accept the changes.
16. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of India. The courts at New Delhi, India have exclusive jurisdiction over disputes arising from them. Mandatory consumer-protection laws where you live still apply.
17. General
These terms and the Privacy Policy are the entire agreement between you and us about the Service. If a provision is unenforceable, the rest stays in effect. Not enforcing a provision is not a waiver. You may not assign these terms without our consent; we may assign them with notice. We may give notices by email or by posting them on sheettrack.com.
